Finishing Prep for Patriotic Box

If you are going to do felt applique to the back of your pieces, do this:
1. Go to Jeannette Douglas website and print off template~ https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5702c8fe60b5e92eb870e26f/t/69838319aff6e473970aae4d/1770226458005/JD370+Patriotic+Box+Wool+Back+Template.pdf

2. Look at the picture at the end of Flosstube #33 video to see which shapes are which color. You will need red, white, and blue felt.

3. Roughly cut out paper pieces.

4. Glue paper pieces to matte side of freezer paper. (unless you love tracing!)

5. Put shiny side of freezer paper toward felt and iron to make it stick.

If you have already have a wood tray, measure the space inside each section.

2. Measure three times, cut once.

3. This will be the dimensions you will use to cut your comic board and batting for the Needlepage (house) and
 Needlebook (specialty stitch).

b. Iron interfacing to the back of stitched piece bumpy side down

2. With a pencil, trace ½” out on each piece.

a. This will be your cut line when you cut out your pieces.

Gather supplies to finish:

1. 5 stitched pieces cut out to pencil-drawn lines

2. 2 pieces of comic board cut out for Needlepage and Needlebook

3. 2 pieces of batting cut out to fit comic board

4. Smoke invisible thread

5. Your backing choice: Fabric/Wool and/or Felt applique

a. Fabric cut ½” wider than stitched pieces

b. OR

i. 2 pieces of wool to go on the back of Needlepage and Needlebook

1. Model uses a gold on the Needlepage and a dark blue on the Needlebook
