How I Do This Thing (Not A Tutorial) - The Project Bag Edition

On my last Flosstube episode, I shared a project bag that I made and some of you expressed interest in the construction and measurement details. My goal was to create a bag that fit my project kit preferences (essentially being able to carry around a whole bunch of stuff without it turning into a giant mess - hence the pocket and floss drop loop) and that would efficiently use the materials needed without many unused off-cuts or scraps. So Much Room For Activities Project Bag Measurements
(After watching use for quick reference)

Finished Size 10" x 15.5"  or ~ 25 x 40cm
Back/Binding 12.5" x 18" 
Lining and Fusible Fleece 10.5" x 15.5"  (I use Pellon 987F)
Vinyl 10.5" x 14.5"  - 16 gauge
Zipper Edging Strips 2" x 11" (one) and 4" x 11" (one)
Pocket (varies)
Loop or Tab (varies)
Minimum 12" zipper
