On this episode we will look a bit more at the next First Stitches story. This stitching journey takes place in Waynesville, Ohio in 1837 and is an American Quaker tale that is derived from primary sources. The story focuses on a girl named Esther and her mother Judith and their community in the Ohio wilderness. The journey will include a doll quilt and other items that will serve as proximate examples of what would have been stitched and sewn at the time!

During this episode, we will begin to look at the history of the color and dye called indigo.

Announcement!
Anything purchased from my website during the month of February will come with a postcard of Esther and a swatch of indigo fabric!
