In this one, I’m sharing a project bag I’ve been using for my cross-stitch—and it’s a bit different from the usual ones you see around.

This bag has a really simple construction, no zips at all, and two handy pockets to keep everything organised without overcomplicating things. It’s been perfect for my smaller projects like little pillows, Animal Crackers, and other quick stitches.

It's perfect for travelling as it folds flat and slips into your suitcase with ease!

🧵 Materials Needed – Project Bag Tutorial:

Main Fabric (44” wide quilting cotton):
• 11” x 44” – cut 1 (outer bag)
• 2.25” x 44” – cut 3 (binding)

**Tip: Avoid directional prints, as parts of the bag may appear upside down. Non-directional fabrics work best.

Lining Fabric:
• 11” x 44” – cut 1

Lightweight (low-loft) wadding/batting:
• 11” x 44” – cut 1

Notions & Tools:
• 22mm button with shank
• 505 temporary adhesive spray
• Fabric marking pen (e.g. Frixion)
• Wonder clips or pins
• Scissors
• Ruler & rotary cutter
• Sewing machine & coordinating thread
• Iron & ironing board
