I didn’t see any of this coming. What I thought would be a straightforward catch-up turned into a stretch of stitching that felt surprisingly energizing — from how I’m finishing projects, to how I’m planning long-term, to even how I’m keeping track of my stitching days. This episode is a little longer, a little fuller, and much more exciting than I expected.

⭐️ *My House*
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Fabric: 40 Count Raw, Zweigart
Floss: Modified Called-For
_This finish was a lesson in trust — and in floss. I made several color changes after realizing some of the called-for shades weren’t working for me (too purple, too yellow, and one that was… just gross). I also experimented with stitching methods, comparing English vs. Danish based on tonal variation. The result? A house that looks beautiful on the tree, even if the journey there tested my patience and preferences along the way._

⭐️ *12 Monthly Minis*
Designer: Primrose Cottage
Fabric: 40 Count Raw, Zweigart
Floss: Called For
Months Finished: June, July, August and September
_Four more minis are complete, and I included a peek at the coffee grinder they’ll eventually live in. This project also opened up a bigger conversation about PROCESS vs. PRODUCT stitching, limited stitching years, and why it’s okay to sometimes stitch purely for joy — even if it doesn’t contribute to your long-term “legacy” projects. (Yes, ice cream was involved in the analogy.)_

⭐️ *Christmas Village*
Designer: Prairie Schooler
Fabric: 40 Count Lunar, Fox & Rabbit
Floss: Color Conversion
_I haven’t made additional stitching progress on this yet — but discovering a color conversion in the Prairie Schooler group completely changed how I feel about this piece. It’s a fun, fresh take on a familiar design, and it instantly took my excitement to the next level. Sometimes a new color palette is all it takes to see a classic pattern in an entirely new way, and I can’t wait to get started with this updated vision._

📖 My Digital StitchingJournal
I share how I’m using Apple’s built-in Journal app as a digital _Book of Days_ — a way many cross stitchers traditionally track their stitching over time. I walk through how I log progress and keep a simple stitch record without paper charts or notebooks.
