FlossTube#5 Cross stitching, quilting & woodturning coming your way

FlossTube #5 October 1st, 2022 – We’re not letting ragweed blues get us down – we’ll keep stitching and turning!

Welcome to our 5th video.  We are having so much fun sharing with you what we are working on and being part of this wonderful community.  We hope you will sit a spell, relax and give us a watch.

The quilt featured in this video is “Grand Pineapple” by QuiltDesingArtelier.com.  I was unable to find out if it is still available, but your local quilt shop may be able to help you.  I used tools for paper-piecing called Add-A-Quarter Rulers.  They work wonderfully.  Also, used Amanda Murphy’s rulers for quilting called Every Circle and the Line Tamer by www.fourpawsquilting.com

Previous FFO’s:

Peter shares three of his beautiful pieced chalices made from cherry, walnut and maple and a utensil holder from ancient wild cherry.

Kathy shares “Blessed” by Stitching With the Housewives free pattern from a few years back.

WIP’s:

Peter has been working on tiny macro-mini bee skeps in various wood to be used on our project bags. He’s also been working on three dough bowls for a friend.

Kathy has been doing Sampler September which has included:

• Jeanette Douglas free monthly SAL Mini-Bouquet Sampler stitched on 36 Ct R&R Star’s Hollow with DMC conversion.  Caught up thru September except for row beneath July-September  #2022SALBouquets
• Mary Clayton by Hands Across the Sea Samplers stitched on 40 Ct Platinum with Vikki Clayton’s silk conversion.  #maryclaytonSAL
• Little Sheep Virtues “Patience” by Little House Needleworks stitched on 28 Ct Patina by LakeSide with called for DMC’s
• 25/7 which has been more like 25/3 is “And A Forest Grew” by Rosewood Manor, Karen Kluba stitched on 40 Ct White using called for DMC

Plans:

Peter is planning to work on making spools in some exotic woods

Kathy plans on getting caught up on WIPGO 2022, choosing one sampler to work on throughout the month and participating with Barb from Lost in Floss FT #ffo to see how many fully finishes I can get done! Also, hoping to cut blocks on “Firm Foundation” quilt by My Wandering Path
