FlossTube #6 October 17th, 2022 – FFO’s, FO’s, WIPS, Haul and so much more! Welcome to our 6th video. We are having so much fun sharing with you what we are working on and being part of this wonderful community. We hope you will sit a spell, relax and give us a watch. Since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month I really wanted to share my memory quilt for my own journey thru breast cancer. I made it in 2012 to memorialize the love and support received during this challenging time. The block used is a Friendship Star Previous FFO’s: Peter shares two previous finishes that he is refreshing. One from a burl with extraordinary texture and character. The second is a maple bowl that has a incredible spalting and curliness in the wood that came out through the finishing process. Current FFO’s: Kathy fully finished three stitches. The first was Cinnamon Stars by Brenda Gervais, second was Bluebird Garden by Artful Offerings and the third was a Christmas mystery SAL from Brenda Gervais called Merry and Minty. Peter completed two pieces that he showed last Flosstube as blanks. Both were made into beautiful spools, one from African Bubingo and the other from Rosewood Patigonia. WIP’s: Peter has been working on tiny macro-mini bee skeps in various wood to be used on our project bags. He’s also been working on three dough bowls for a friend. Kathy has been working on six WIP’s which include: • “Welcome Autumn” kit from The Drawn Thread • “Field Mouse Hollow” by Brenda Gervais – stitching completed!!! • Little Sheep Virtues “Patience” by Little House Needleworks stitched on 28 Ct Patina by LakeSide with called for DMC’s • 25/7 which has been more like 45/3 is “And A Forest Grew” by Rosewood Manor, Karen Kluba stitched on 40 Ct White using called for DMC • New Start of “Tender Father Sampler” by Tree of Life Samplings by Jan Alexander • Partially made the first quilt block in my “Firm Foundation” wall hanging by My Wandering Path. I used wonderful tools for helping with perfect half-square triangles called Bloc_Loc and two rulers from Deb Tucker, the “V-Block” for steeple and the “Wing Clipper” for the flying geese block. Plans: Peter is planning to work on small snowman for zipper pulls Kathy plans on getting caught up on WIPGO 2022, concentrating on GLeger 1898 for the rest of the month with Kim Goldman #refletsdesoiesal. Continuing to participating with Barb from Lost in Floss FT #FFOctober to see how many fully finishes I can get done! Also, hoping to cut more blocks on “Firm Foundation” quilt by My Wandering Path. And last but not least a new start on the 29th with Terri and Jamie, CornHusker State Stitchers #christmasrulessal Fellow FlossTuber’s mentioned: CornHusker State Stitchers https://youtu.be/BLOiJ3LJoGg Christine from Hollis Hands Create https://youtu.be/bSMInXVrNW8 CZook https://youtu.be/My4OiGfznZI Stitching in the Land of Good Enough https://youtu.be/8o3RvhDOMjM Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch https://youtu.be/-sszjfuX1pA Annie The Proper Stitcher https://youtu.be/0pIy0MKJD2g Sew ‘n Sews https://youtu.be/LB_KwtmM-B0 Please comment, like and subscribe to our channel!
