FlossTube #7 November 7th, 2022 – FFO’s, FO’s, WIPS, Haul and so much more! Welcome to our 7th video!! We are having so much fun sharing with you what we are working on and being part of this wonderful community. We hope you will sit a spell, relax and give us a watch. Please like, subscribe, and comment. We love hearing from you all!! Thanks! Quilt featured in this FlossTube is my very first quilt 😊. I participated in a beginner’s class in 2007 at a wonderful quilt shop in Raleigh. The kit was provided and is so soft in flannel. Previous FFO’s: Peter shares a previous finish that he made many years ago when he lived in Germany. It is a pieced bowl from oak, maple, cherry, and mahogany Current FFO’s: Kathy fully finished two stitches. The first was “1000 Hills” by Plum Street Samplers. The second was “Eliza Stone” by Whilst Iris Naps. Peter completed quite a few. He carved three large dough bowls for a friend out of spalted oak. Another finish is an acorn he made from maple and for the bottom he was able to preserve the live-edge with a little bit of moss. He also turned an oak bowl and used his new texturizing tool and painted it with India ink on the outside and left top edge and inside natural. Kathy’s FO’s: • Little Sheep Virtues “Patience” by Little House Needlework’s stitched on 28 Ct Patina by LakeSide with called for DMC’s • “Christmas Tiny Town” by Heart In Hand – Cecelia Turner stitched on 36 Ct Brea by Needle & Flax with called for over-dyed floss. Planning on finishing this on one of Peter’s large spools scissor holders. WIP’s: Peter is continuing to work on three WIP’s: • on a pieced bowl with maple and mahogany • a spalted oak blank ready to turn and we’ll see what he ends up making from this piece. • Ort Holder from maple and crepe myrtle Kathy has been working on five WIP’s: • “And A Forest Grew” by Rosewood Manor, Karen Kluba stitched on 40 Ct White using called for DMC. This is my Psalm60 stitch where I listen to the Psalms and stitch for 60 minutes. What a peaceful time. I have created a hashtag #psalm60stitch if you would like to join me and show what you’re stitching on for 60 minutes while listening to the beautiful Psalms. • “Christmas Garden” by BlackBird Designs stitched on 36 Ct American Chestnut by R&R Reproductions with Vikki Clayton’s silk conversion. • “GLeger 1898” by Reflets de Soie stitched on 36 Ct Antique White with Lisa from Kindred Stitchers over-dyed floss conversion. Participating in a stitch along #refletsdesoiesal with Kim Goldman of The Contented Stitcher • “A Mighty Acorn” by BlackBird Designs stitched on 36 Ct Prairie Grass by Seraphim with called for WDW floss. This is a stitch along with Barb from Lost in Floss to celebrate her friend LeAnn’s birthday on August 24th #leannslecacySAL • Completed the first of six quilt blocks in my “Firm Foundation” wall hanging by My Wandering Path.
